6 month stats and more!

I figured it was time to update...Thanksgiving has come and gone, now Christmas is just around the corner. Dalton has been Mr. Happy lately and is becoming quite the charmer as you can see below.

Today Dalton had his 6 month shots and checkup. He is doing wonderful! He is 29.5 inches long and 20.5 pounds! (No wonder that car seat is heavy!!!) He is in the 98th percentile for his height and 91st percentile for his weight...This kid is no joke! We are so blessed that he is so happy and healthy. He was babbling and smiling at his doctor today...The doctor just loved him too...can you blame him?!??! (LOL!) Lots on milestones are being met...including the fact that he can now sit up on his own!

Last night, Uncle Derek and Auntie Candace came over for a quick visit. At dinner he played in his new highchair and actually relaxed as we ate! What a cool kid!

One of his new favorite things to do is lay on the floor and play with us. He giggles and babbles at ton! It is so cute! I call this photo: "Hello!"
Life has gotten even more exciting now that Dalton sits in a highchair and eats rice cereal! That's right, folks....Dalton ate his first bite the day after Thanksgiving...Boy was he thankful! He was a pro at it too! Must be from my family...loves to eat!!!! He opened his little mouth like a birdie.
After his second bite he was thoughtfully eating...
Then onto other things to bite and chew...
He sure loves his daddy!!!
The next morning he was Mr. Happy.
Thankgiving morning wiped him out!

Love this peaceful face...right before he nodded off.
After a good rest he was ready to JUMP! This Johnny Jump Up was a life saver at my parents' house while we were there at Thanksgiving. He just loved it!
I had to end with a series of pictures. He is rolling over now too. It is so funny because you can see him thinking it all through before he rolls...sometimes it takes a bit to warm up....
Once he is up usually he is one happy boy....usually....
but not this day...some days I think he big head is just too much! (yes he has a big head, not bobble head, but big! He is in the 99th percentile for that one!)
In reality though, he is getting pretty good at rolling over...and most days are not like this.

More adventures to come!!! (Really some day those new house photos will make it on here!)

Family Fun!

Last weekend my cousin Mary and her son Kyle came into town for a visit. We loved seeing them!!! Dalton got to spend the day with his Auntie Mary, Auntie M, and his cousins, Kyle and Trevor. He loves being with the boys already! (And they are so cute with him!)Here's Trevor about to body slam Dalton....Ok, not really, but doesn't the photo look like it?!?! BOYS!!!
Kyle is so careful with Dalton and told Trevor, "Dude, you have to be careful!"

Dalton leaves the house with me Monday-Thursday at 6:30 am...a bit early for anyone! I love the look below...He pulled the blanket close to his face and looked like a lil Eskimo! His face is saying, "Really Mom, this whole morning thing is just not my thing!" Actually he is great in the mornings...always very smiley and lovey!

A couple weeks ago we went to a housewarming party at Uncle Derek and Auntie Candace's. He just loves them!!!! (Of course the feeling is mutual!)
Uncle Derek made this cool fountain in the backyard. Dalton got to check it out with Uncle Dan...Had to take the picture...proof that Uncle Dan does hold babies!!!
This was taken on Halloween...in his Jumperoo, which is a favorite! He is so happy in it!

PS. I am still trying to figure out posting a video...for some reason it is NOT working for me! (I even watched a video to make sure I was doing it right.) ERRRR...I need to figure out why it doesn't upload! I have some super cute clips of him chatting away! Oh, we will also try to take some house pictures too this weekend...REALLY!!! I know many of you keep asking to see pics of the new house.

Halloween (and a little treat!)

We decided to take Dalton to the Farmer's Market and Pumpkin Patch today. (I couldn't miss it, even if I have not been feeling too well...Caught some kind of "bug" BUT happy to report no fever today though!)
It was interesting trying to get him to smile for the camera...never really happened actually. But did manage to get some cute shots! He was a lion. The sweetpea costume (the one that Nanny bought him (last year) right after she found out she was going to be a grandma) didn't quite fit and he shared his discontent very clearly. I think he thought he was being put in a straight jacket....LOL! Thank goodness, Auntie M (Marlene) had Trevor's lion costume from his first Halloween for Dalton to wear. She handmade it too, which was even more special.

Here we are:

ROAR!!!! (Ok really, just yawning....)Laughing...this kiddo sure can make you smile!
It wasn't long before Dalton was asleep.
Here's the "treat"....The photo below is one I didn't know about...it was on Travis's camera....from a trip we took in mid-September with Nanny, Uncle Derek, and Auntie Candace to Coloma. We spent the day at the river and stayed at a cute bed and breakfast for the night. I couldn't resist posting this picture of Dalton being held by Nanny...The glasses didn't last long.:)

Lots of changes!!!

Well, many changes have happened over the last month...The top one on our list was BUYING A HOUSE!!!! (I promise to take pics soon to post...just haven't quite gotten that far yet.) I guess being a full time teacher and new mom just wasn't enough excitement! We bought a three bedroom, two and half bathroom townhouse in Dublin. We couldn't be happier!

Dalton is now 5 months old. So hard to believe!!! This past weekend Kellyn, Annika and Greg were here for a visit. It was great to have my sister's decorating expertise! Of course, we absolutely LOVED having Kellyn here too! On Sunday, Dalton, Kellyn and I sat in the chair in Dalton's room and read! LOTS! I loved the cuddle time! Dalton has a new favorite...his Jumperoo bouncy . He really gets moving on this. Of course, he stops for a break to chew on his finger. This kiddo sure is teething!
A couple weekends ago my mom came for a visit. Without her help I don't think we could have moved!!!! Dalton loved having Grammy here too! I know the photo below is not the best in quality (figures I would play with the settings on my camera when he decides to smile.) BUT I had to include it...he was all smiles with Grammy!
This is his favorite look...chew on that lip! He still is fascinated with the camera, and is almost impossible to get a smiling photo of him. He is too intent on staring at the camera!

We often call Dalton "Squirt", so this little onesie that says "Little Squirt" is on of our favorites.
We will try to post soon! Especially with Halloween just around the corner!

Just a couple pics-I forgot to include

Here's a couple cute ones I forgot to post...The onesie below says "I Want Candy!" (care of Auntie Melissa) Although he is way too young to try it yet, I am sure that he will be just like Dad in that department too!

Saturday we were able to meet up with my friend, Laura, her hubby and their two boys, who were all is town from their new home in Hawaii. Must be rough, huh? They looked great and wow, those boys have grown. Below is her youngest, Chase, who is 6 months. Dalton and Chase were so cute. They were totally checking each other out. Chase even gave Dalton a hug!

Look who's 4 months old!!!

That's right, Dalton turned 4 months old today! We can't believe how fast time has gone and can't imagine life without him. He is getting so fun too! He is laughing and smiling a ton! Once 3 months hit, his personality really started to show. He went to the doctor for his 4 month shots on Friday. Travis had to take him alone since I was still at work. What a cool daddy!!! Anyway, Dalton is almost 17 pounds and is 25 1/2 inches long. Some of his 6 month clothes are short now! Seems like he grows daily, which I suppose he probably does!

I put him in his positioner chair today for the first time. He is so strong he has no trouble sitting up, but after a while he starts tilting to one side, usually the left. He would look up at me, as if to say, "Little help here Mom!" Too cute!
Oh, yeah, forgot to mention, the lil guy is teething...so it is now DROOL GALORE!!!! It is as if the faucet turned on! Plus everything now goes in the mouth! One of his new favorite moves is to grab my hand and pull it to his mouth to chomp on my finger. I can certainly feel the difference on his gums.
Bathtime has just gotten more interesting!!! Tonight he started SPLASHING!!! It was a hoot! I have a short video but am having trouble posting it...so suppose you'll just have to imagine it and take a close look at the shot below...He managed to splash his face a ton and didn't seem to mind.
Hope to post more soon! Off to bed soon hopefully...fingers crossed for a full night's sleep!

Three and a Half Months and Growing Strong!

This has to be a short post...but I know that I have neglected my postings....TOO MUCH TO DO SO LITTLE TIME!!! The mom stuff just keeps getting better and better! The working stuff kinda stinks! (It's not that I don't love my job, it's just hard to be 100% when you are tired and really wanting to be with your baby...oh well, such is life...and I do feel blessed to have a job where I love the people I work with and that still pays the bills.)
Anyway, Dalton is developing his own little personality and is quite entertaining. Here's just a few pics to give you a taste of our lil guy....who by the way is growing so much he is into 6 month clothes because he is so tall! His 3 month clothes weren't cutting it...can we say floods?!?!

Bathtime is becoming an enjoyable time for Dalton. This is one of my new favorite photos! I just love his sweet innocent face...He is getting so strong with holding up his head up and looking around! He's done it for a while, but has much better control now.:)
In all his glory...milk drool and all!!!
He sure can have serious faces....REALLY just seconds before this shot was taken he was laughing and smiling at his toy elephant, which we have named Elmer...He was having a blast with him...then, bam, take out the camera and the smile disappeared!
See you soon!!! Hugs to you all!

Where have we been?!?!?!

A couple weeks ago we got to head up to the mountains (Quincy/Meadow Valley/Bucks Lake) to spend time with friends and family. My dear friends, Elena and Kelly, their hubbies and kids were in town too. HOW GREAT WAS THAT!?!?! (We really missed Melissa, Matt and Finn though!) Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures at the Stentzels BBQ Fest...Can't wait to see them from all who took them though!

I did manage to get some shots at the Plumas Sierra County Parade...which wouldn't be complete without an entry from the Beer Family. Dad towed two of his kayaks (with my Uncle Doug in one, Aunt Monika in the other) and one of his canoes (with Mom and Kellyn in tow.)
Dalton slept the WHOLE TIME!! NO WAY...even through gunshots and horns honking! Talk about shutting it all out!

Mom and Kellyn join in the fun!

Auntie Elena! Dalton loved her!
My goddaughter, Maisie, and Dalton chilling on the grass before the parade. Maisie LOVES Dalton...it is the cutest! What a great big sis she will be!:)
Back home after all the fun in the mountains....

Dalton is stylin! Thanks to Auntie Annika!!! Check out the Vans!!!!

Dalton LOVES laying on his changing table and chatting...he smiles and laughs...sometimes just at himself! Easily amused!

He's found his thumb...most of the time.... too cute! Gets so frustrated when he can't get it in his mouth! :)

Talking in the car...quite the way to pass the time.

What you looking at Willis?!?!

WOW! Baby push ups!
"Look at me!!!" Dalton is getting sooo strong and changing each day! Today he was laying on the couch, lifting his head with ease, and rocking back and forth. He sure was trying to move! And was one happy boy about it! (Yes...he is losing his hair...booo....funny little head now! It'll grow back.:)
So....I am back to school...Hard to be away from Dalton each day...BUT so busy at work that I don't have much time to think about it. We are soooo blessed though...he gets to stay with his Nanny (Trav's mom) two days a week, my cousin Marlene two other days, and is with Trav on Fridays! He is with someone who loves him each day, which is a HUGE relief to me! What a lucky boy!!!!
