4 weeks old

This is one of my favorite onesies that Dalton wears. Here he is resting in his stroller on a walk around the neighborhood.

On Saturday, Travis decided that we should head out to lunch at ClaimJumper...a favorite place for him to get chicken and biscuits. We enjoyed lunch, and realized that "heading out" will never be the same. It was Murphy's Law....Just as lunch arrived at the table, Dalton woke up from his nap and was ready to eat! So, I cut Trav's chicken so he could eat one handed and feed Dalton. We switched midway so that Travis could enjoy his lunch two handed. Just then I realized we had a lil diaper blowout issue, so lunch was over for me for a bit to do cleanup! Never a dull moment!!! CLASSIC!!!

On our way home, we decided to head to Costco to stock up on some essentials and a few easy meal ideas for the mom who just doesn't feel like cooking lately! Here's the two guys advertising a nice comfy leather sofa!
Yesterday, Dalton turned 4 weeks old! WE CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! I suppose all of you that have said, "Enjoy every minute with him because it goes by fast!!!!" are SOOOO right! He looks different already and is starting to explore his tongue more, flopping it around to entertain himself. He looks right into your eyes and I swear he looks right into your soul too. (Clearly I am loving being with him....I could spend hours just cuddling!) I am so blessed to have this time to spend with him before I head back to work in August.

Yesterday, we went to my cousin, Marlene's (aka Auntie M's) house to celebrate her little boy, Trevor's 3rd birthday! In honor of the big day, Dalton wore his Tykesido, handmade by his Auntie Niki!
We had a great time with family. Dalton is sure surrounded by a bunch of love! He loved having his Auntie M, Auntie Mary, Nana, and bigger cousin, Kyle, hold him. Kyle was a pro! He held him so carefully and confidently.

busy boy!

Here's the lil man resting in his lamb seat. Could he look any more like Travis?!?!
It was a busy week this past week. Dalton spent some time donning some of his new outfits and visiting with family and friends. This kiddo sure is flexible!

On Thursday, my friends Dianna, Rianna and her sweet little girl, Rory came to visit. They brought lunch, which was greatly appreciated (since when does a new mom eat?!?!?). I am afraid to say Dalton wasn't much fun for Ror...yet. I am sure next year he will be bugging her! :) Here's Rory, having fun and wondering what I am doing. She is so darling!
Before bathtime on Thursday, Dalton displayed a new talent...blowing bubbles. In all reality he was not aware he was doing it, he was asleep!
After bathtime, Daddy attacked the sharp lil nails... Quite the spa treatment for the lil guy!
The next day we got dressed and Travis decided that Dalton MUST have a mohawk...He was so patient with his Daddy messing with his hair. Despite Travis's pleas, I wouldn't let him put gel in it.
Saturday was an eventful day. We went to a breast cancer fundraiser at the Fairgrounds. Dalton was a champ...He slept on and off while we were there. He sures loves hanging out with his daddy! After attending the event, we headed to a graduation party...again he was sooo good!
When he got sleepy and ready to walk around, I popped him in the Moby wrap. He looks like a little pea in a pod all wrapped up...quite cozy!
Sunday, Travis's First Father's Day, we headed to Downtown Danville for the Art Festival. It is always fun to roam around and check out all the unique vendors. Of course, a little frozen yogurt is a motivator too! We spent the rest of the day relaxing, watching racing, and then headed over to Nanny's for a BBQ.
This shot was taken today, when I was trying to get a couple of things done while he napped. (Hard to do since all I want to do sometimes is sit and stare at him!) The nap was short lived, but at least I got a cute picture before he woke up.

Fentons

Saturday we had some family business to take care of in Piedmont, so what more of an excuse does one need to visit Fentons?!?! (For those of you unfamiliar with Fentons...it is an creamery that has DELICIOUS ice cream ...a family favorite for toasted almond ice cream!) Off we went in Nanny's mini van...on a mission! Dalton slept the entire time we were there...even with a screaming child throwing a tantrum at the next table. I am sure that next year at this time Dalton's face will be covered with ice cream- too young for that now though! ("Such a shame," Travis says.)

Today, Travis had to go back to work...booo!:( We managed to have a good day together though, despite the gray weather and Daddy not here. Nanny came by to visit which is always nice!
I tried out the Moby Wrap today, which Dalton seemed to like a lot! Hooray! He took two naps in it, which freed up my hands for typing some emails and getting a few things done around the house. Multi-tasking at its finest!!!! I have a feeling the Moby is going to be a life saver! (Thanks Elena!) Sure wish my girlfriends were here to hang out and take walks with... Glad that school is out so that I will be able to spend time with some of my friends who I work with and love being around.

Gettin used to it all!

Monday afternoon we decided to get out and take a walk while the sun was out. It has been so foggy and gray out lately...definitely not like June weather! Dalton enjoyed being out and about by the pond with us, seeing the geese and ducks.

Daddy manuvered the course.

Oscar and Bert, the cats, are still wondering...when is this kid leaving?!?!?! Well, he isn't!!! Actually, the cats have adjusted well to Dalton and his routines.
On Monday afternoon, my sister, Annika and my niece, Kellyn came to visit til Thursday morning. We LOVED it! It is great to see Dalton with his auntie and cousin!

We also had Dalton's first pediatrician appointment on Monday. He is doing wonderful! He is a happy and healthy boy. He's gained all his birth weight back, plus 2 oz ...now weighing 8 lbs and 2 oz. He is in the 50% for weight. He is in the 90% for his height, being 21.5 inches. We really like our pediatrician! He recommended Dalton has some tummy time each day, which Trav and Dalton got to right away! :)
MORE ADVENTURES TO COME THIS WEEKEND...HOPEFULLY THE WEATHER GETS SUNNY!!!!

WE ARE HOME!!!

We are gradually getting used to parenthood and the steep learning curve that accompanies it...We are learning all about the trials and tribulations of nursing, burping, sleeping (or lack thereof), etc... BUT WE ARE STILL OVER THE MOON! And lovin it! Thank GOD my mom has been here to help AND that I have the best husband in the world! (not to brag!) We are really a team! Dalton has his first doctor appointment tomorrow. He needs to have an empty tummy for 3 hours before hand...should be interesting. Dalton seems like he is changing already! He loves to sleep during the day (not so much at night)...BUT he is SO good! (How did that happen? How did we get such a mellow kid? Ok, I know many of you are thinking...Well duh, it's Trav's son!) He doesn't cry much at all, even during the night when he is awake, he is just alert and chillin as we are thinking "shouldn't we all be asleep?"

TODAY was wonderful! Dalton had a visit from his bud Finn! AT LAST!!! Also I received some much needed friend time with Melissa before she heads to Maryland :( It was such therapy to have her here to tell me all will be ok! (Oh, and the treats and magazines were a hit!)

Finn was so excited to see us!

As you can see, the feeling was mutual!!!

2 pals, just chillin' together...

Here are a few photos that we thought you'd enjoy from the last few days:

Daddy and Dalton relaxing in bed.
Dalton and Nanny cuddling up.

Grammy and Dalton loving each other.

Dalton and I ready to leave the hospital...A huge sigh of relief for us all, even though we had great care there!

Heading home...First time in his snazzy carseat.

Home at last!
