New year, new cat! Kid and cat conversations...

"Hey, check me out!  I am feeding Arnold!  That's right, piggies need to eat too!"

"I just LOVE Arnold, the snoring and talking pig!  His ear is the perfect chew toy!"

"Mom, can you PLEASE leave me alone!?!?!  I am trying to read here!"

Enter Bert and Buddy....

"Now that is close enough there new cat!" Bert snarled...."Your name might be Buddy, but you are no friend of mine...at least not yet!"

"I said, STEP BACK CAT!  Am I not making myself clear?!?!"

"Fine, I will just rest here for a while, until you decide to like me!"

Well, a couple days have gone by and Bert seems to be liking Buddy a bit more.  He sends an occasionally hiss his way, I think just to remind him that they aren't quite pals yet.  We are sure that in no time they will be though.  Bert really is the one who is a scaredy cat!  Buddy has settled in quite well and is about 10 months old, so he still has some kitten spunk!   We love him already and hope Bert learns to love him too!  We still think Bert is thinking, "Nice try Mom and Dad, but if you were going to try to trick me, the least you should have done was bring a white and black cat like Oscar!"
Oh, more adventures ahead....

Christmas adventures

Dalton eating carrots...a favorite food!                                      Dalton with his cousin Trevor

Dalton just LOVES Bert, our cat...He squeals when he sees him!   What a happy boy!
Here he is with me on Christmas Eve.  Loved his shirt...it said "What Santa doesn't bring me, Grandma will!"  Which is soo true...

Dalton's first Christmas!  He loved sitting in between all the presents Christmas morning.  Of course, his favorite gifts were the wrapping paper and bows.  Oh yeah, he also LOVED this small egg spatula that Nanny put in my stocking.

Christmas morning breakfast..YUM...prunes and rice cereal. LOL!

He got the BEST gifts from everyone this year...Cowboy hat included!  This gift was from Auntie Candace and Uncle Derek.  The hat came with a plaid pea coat...awesome!

One tired Daddy!  Of course, look who keeps on going!!!  Dalton is so active!  We feel so blessed that he is so happy and busy!  (even though, some days I wish I had that energy!)  This is Christmas day in the evening before we headed to Auntie Shirley and Uncle Dan's, which is always so much fun!

Dalton loves his cousin Emma!  He also got the cutest stuffed polar bear, which Emma and her mom, Diana, made for him at Build A Bear...They named him Blizzard.  He even had a Santa hat!

Dalton had special Christmas PJs from Auntie Shirley and Uncle Dan...They were darling!

Dalton and Uncle Dan...Check out that smile!  He just LOVES Uncle Dan too!

After a wonderful Christmas with Travis's side of the family, we headed up to my parent's from our family Christmas and to celebrate Dad's 70th birthday!
The Beer Family Christmas began with an ugly sweater contest, which Kellyn judged.  She came up with her own outfit even.  (That kid is such a hoot!)  She came out in heels carrying a briefcase (actually a Backgammon case) and a huge pen and spy glass (a kaleidoscope).

Here she is in all her glory!  Judge Kellyn.

Dad's ugly sweater, created by Annika, had actual Christmas lights attached.  Dad decided to plug in to show it off.  Yes, it even blinked!  :)  Notice Mom's ugly sweater...Personally I think that took the cake on UGLY!

Dalton is at the stage, where EVERYTHING goes in his mouth.  Fortunately at this moment it was just his fingers.

Dalton and Auntie Niki.  He loves his auntie!

Daddy and Dalton went outside.  That morning it snowed a couple inches, but by the afternoon it melted.

Kellyn, Dalton and me enjoying the day together.

A bonus on our visit...We got to see my dear friend Jillian and her sweet lil girl, Lily!  I have know Jillian for 23 years!  I can't believe we are both mommies now!  It is so fun to have my girlfriends, like her, to chat mommy things with.

Here's our little cherub!  He loves being down to his diaper and takes the opportunity to chew on his toes...too funny!

Just thought this was a cute shot...plus he was wearing his new outfit "01 with the ladies".  He really is a charmer!  :)

Dalton tasting snow for the first time!  Of course, he had to wear his cowboy hat!  (Trav and I love this hat!)

Here's the family on Dad's 70th....actually this was a couple days later when we threw him a party!

A new favorite skill...chewing on his shoe!

Well, there's just a quick update...Hope you all are doing well!  We are enjoying the weekend!  We just adopted a new cat.  He came on Friday and is a bit shy right now...Hopefully he will get comfortable soon.  (I will take a picture on him soon and post, just don't want to scare him right now.)  Happy 2010 everyone!  Many hugs!
