Back to reality...But good to be home too!

Well our Hawaii trip is there and gone!  We had a wonderful time!  Here's some documentation of all the fun!
Dalton got a taste of his first shave ice...
He liked it...Then decided to try Uncle Derek's...Which must be better right?!?
"Yep!  So good I think I'll help myself...."

Eating out was "interesting" at times.  Actually he did pretty well.  Not to mention he got really good at being cute....  Dalton is talking up a storm lately.  He was a hit with all his "Hi" and "Byes" to anyone around.
There were lots of beach days!  We LOVED those!  (Especially when you have a boogie board leash to chew on!)
And practiced being cute some more...
Went shopping at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.  Of course Dalton just loved being with Nanny!
Saw the penguins at the hotel...
Played with Daddy and practiced being cute some more!  (while taking advantage of a photo op!)
Went to a favorite beach, Koolina.  Got some love from Uncle Derek and Auntie Candace, whom he loves both sooo much!
 Played with Mommy....
Ate dinner at Shore Bird with Cousin Kenny...
Took some family photos while the sun set on the beach...

Went to the North Shore and Haliewa...a favorite place on the island for us.
Ate DELICIOUS tacos at Cholos....not to mention a great place to have a cold drink!
Spent some time running around in super cool denim diapers...NO, not all of us!  Just Dalton!:)
Can't wait to go back to Hawaii already....

The beauty of being home was that the next day we had a short visit from our dear friends Melissa, Matt and Finn.  A great thing to come back too!  Dalton and Finn were so cute playing together...
Of course Finn loved that his "Auntie" Lici put MOUNDS of tasty treats (aka Baby Crack) in front of him to gooble up.  Check him out double fisting it!
Finnian is ONE CUTE KIDDO!
They played nicely together...Dalton loved being back home with all his toys and Finn thought they were pretty cool too!
 "Hurry up Finn!"

"Whatever Dalton!"
The visit was WAY TOO short but we were delighted to see them regardless.  I couldn't get over how funny Finn is!  Love that kiddo too!  Plus it was wonderful to be able to hang out and catch up with Melissa and Matt.  We miss them dearly on the west coast!!!!

Spoke too soon!

So much for not eating sand!!!  After dinner, Dalton took a header in the sand and got a mouthful!  But didn't cry or seem too bothered.  It was FUNNY!

Hawaii with the family

I am not going to write too much...Dalton is finally taking a nap for the day, but I wanted to post a few Hawaii pictures.  We are having a great time already and delighted to say that we still have a week and a half left to enjoy this beautiful vacation.  :)  Dalton LOVES the beach, sand and waves!  Nope, hasn't tried to eat sand yet!
Our first few mornings here we were awake at 3:30 am...thank you time change!  It did give us a chance to watch the sun come up and get out for an early morning walk around the condo grounds.
On our journey Dalton discovered a leaf which he carried the entire walk.
Notice still has the leaf!  Check out the hair!
Of course after a short time walking he decided being carried was MUCH better!

A visit to Oahu is NOT complete without a trip to the Kahala for an onolicious brunch!  Not to mention  BEAUTIFUL setting.
Derek, Virginia and Travis!  GREAT PIC huh?!!

Our first trip to the beach was to Kailua, a favorite.  Dalton LOVED it!
Travis and I had such fun with him!  It was darling watching his face the first time the waves hit him.
White crackers!  All 3 of us!

The other day Derek, Candace and Travis hiked Koko Head Crater...A super steep hike, but once at the top there's a spectacular view.
Looking toward Honolulu...
Derek and Candace above Hanauma Bay...
Travis, with Honolulu in the distance...

Derek and Travis

My dear friend Laura and her family moved here about a year ago...So we had a chance to see her and her boys, Lleyton and Chase...stinkin cute boys!  SO FUN!  Can't wait to spend more time with them while we are here!

Here's just a couple more that I couldn't resist....
Yesterday at Three Tables beach.

The other night we went to Haliewa Joe's for dinner...Despite having a GREAT afternoon nap, Dalton was NOT having it!  So, Travis and I took turns walking around outside the restaurant on the patio.  Trav got this shot....Check out the Hawaiian shirt and shorts from Aunt Shirley and Uncle Dan...too cute!  ALOHA!!!!

Happy 1st Birthday!

Well as much as I say I will do my best to keep photos posted and all of you updated...I have yet again had to let that go!   I have a few minutes so I figured I give a quick update.

Dalton is now 1 year old!  HOW COULD THAT BE!?!?!  I just love this age!  He has quite the little personality already!  He is walking! (He started to walk 1 week before his birthday.)  Yes, he's walking all over...nothing is safe!  He has 4 top teeth, which all came in at the same time about 1 month ago.  Poor guy!  It is nice to have the top teeth to accompany the 2 bottom he's had for a while.

Here's a few pictures from his birthday celebration with our family:
Annika made the best Elmo cake ever!  Check out the detail!
Dalton was excited to see his cake!
Here's the birthday boy!
He got the coolest toy house from his aunties and cousins for a present.  He loves it!

He LOVES his Auntie M who plays Choo Choo with him!  Check out the smile!
We got a chance for the moms and kids on my side of the family to snap a photo together.  I have the best family!
Here's Dalton with his Uncle Derek...I can't tell who likes each other more!
Candace can always get a laugh and a smile out of him.
Candace's cousin Jeremy came to the party.  Dalton was so excited to wear his sunglasses...Mind you I cannot get him to wear the ones I bought for him!
In the end, Dalton was not as into the cake as I thought he would be but he had a great day anyway!  We stripped him down to prepare for red frosting everywhere...
We will be off to Hawaii next week, so I am sure when we return we will have pictures galore to share.  READY FOR SUMMER!!!!!
